  • Notes
    • Peter's father was THOMAS JANVIER, b.Newcastle, Delaware. Thomas' parents were THOMAS JANVIER AND SARAH CROSSE. He left France for America in 1682. Thomas's father was PIERRE JANVIER. Pierre Janvier's father was PHILLIPPE JANVIER and his father was PIERRE JANVIER. He was married to a Scotch countess. I have looked into these names on the familysearch by the LDS church and it seems that they have a Thomas January married to a Sarah Jordain and a Thomas Janvier married to a Sarah Crosse both listing identical children's names yet different birthdates. Does anyone have any more info on this or these lines.

Sarah Crosse, dtr of Wm Crosse took the name of her step-father after her father died.
You will find her listed with both names but she is one person.

I notice that some of you are confused abt Sarah Cross and Sarah Jourdain. William Cross was Sarah's father who died when she was very young. Her mother remarried a Dr. De Jourdain and the girls took his name so records you find are under both names. Thomas the Immigrant married Mary Sarah Crosse (Jourdain). They are the same person.
