"Peter Jackson, who came here from Berks County in 1836, was very active in the German Reformed Church and organized the first Sunday School in the village in 1849. He also recorded the list of those buried in the Union Cemetery until 1883."

12 March 1864
Peter sold his 14 acres to Augustus Wilson. The recorded indenture makes mention of Peter's original purchase in 1833.

Peter Jackson and wife, Appolonia, and Jeremiah Riegner and wife, Hannah, and Daniel Gehris and wife, Charlotte, and Sophia Seigley sold 4 acres to George Seigley (Sophia's son). This property had been owned by Mary Reifschneider who purchased it from Daniel Gehris 28 April 1849. The property likely was willed or deeded to her sisters upon her death.
This land sale is what tied the five Reifschneider women together as sisters.
